G-d’s Testimony in Our Lives

“And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you.”

— Exodus 25:16 NKJV

What testimony has G-d given you? Have you placed it in the ark within your heart? Have you placed all the things G-d has told you to place there?

The things G-d told Moses to place into the ark were the tablets of stone that were the Ten Commandments, Aaron’s staff that budded, and the omer of Manna.

These things were not only to be placed inside the ark, but when the time was right, they were to be taken out of the ark and placed before the ark to be on display for all to see the Testimony of G-d.

These things are a testimony of G-d’s Word, His Power, and His Provision.

The Testimony that we keep in our hearts, should have these three testaments as well. A proclamation and account of His Word, His Power, and His Provision.

A Testimony is not about us, but about G-d and what He has done. When you give the Testimony of G-d, is it about you or about G-d and what He has done? What do you proclaim? What do you give an account of?

For perspective, there is nothing wrong with giving some history, but how is that history given? Is it a proclamation of where G-d brought you from, or is it a story of things you used to do?

We have to remember, no one needs the details of the sinful past. People just need to hear what G-d has done and where He brought you from. G-d delivered the Israelites from Egypt. We can say, “G-d delivered me from…” and fill in the blanks. That is a proclamation of His Work in us. Too many times we reflect on the past and what we used to do, instead on where G-d has brought us to. People need to hear the latter. They already know what the former is like.

Proclaim today what G-d has done for you and give the Testimony of G-d, not of you.
