The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil. — Proverbs 15:28 NKJV
Do we have a credible, Biblical answer for this world or do we just spew out what is off the top of our head or what we heard someone else say?
In Paul’s second letter to Timothy he writes, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.” — 2 Timothy 2:15-16 (NKJV)
In Peter’s first letter, he writes, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” — 1 Peter 3:15-17 NKJV
